In Congo, the Muslim population is about 10%; most of them are new converts who have embraced Islam through dreams. Sometimes jamaats go through villages, and a whole village embraces Islam.  Since there are no teachers to teach them the proper Deen after becoming Muslims, they still maintain their old customs. Some Muslims have never seen a copy of the Noble Qur'an in their lives. Many couples live without Nikah.  Such situations can only be experienced when people go in fisabilillah, i.e., in the path of Allah Ta'ala, from village to village.  Recently, a local jamaat from Kinshasa went to a village called Mongala in the equatorial region of Congo, 1100 km from the capital Kinshasa, to tashkeel them to participate in the Ijtima which was held in Kalemie, east of Congo, on 17th, 18th and 19th December 21.  One brother of the village gave the following report: "Thanks to the path of the jamaat, we learned that pork is haraam.
