The Pro-Shia Galloway

George Galloway is currently being promoted in South Africa and by radio stations that refer to themselves as Islamic. 

Let us review some of the pro-Shia statements of this controversial person. 

We must bear in mind that Galloway was working for the Shia channel PRESS TV too. 

Can any Muslim allow a platform to be given to the person who uttered the statements collated below? 

 1. "_ On the day before Kabul fell to what were then known as the mujahidin, I told Mrs Thatcher in the House of Commons: ‘You have opened the gates to the *barbarians*, and a long, dark night will now descend upon the people of Afghanistan._’” - George Galloway

Other findings:

2005 — In an interview, Galloway said he had supported Iran during the Iran-Iraq War and that he had supported Ayatollah Khomeini’s Islamic Revolution as a popular movement against the Shah.

7 October 2007 — Galloway spoke at Al-Quds Day in London, an event founded by Khomeini and strongly associated with pro-Iran and pro-Hezbollah activism.

March 2008 — At an anti-war rally, Galloway warned against preparations for war against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

24 May 2008 — He spoke at an event marking Lebanon’s Resistance and Liberation Day, celebrating Hezbollah’s role in forcing Israel out of southern Lebanon.

15 October 2012 — At the Oxford Union, Galloway spoke at length about Iran and its Islamic political system.

2012 — He addressed the Global Islamic Awakening conference, organised by the Ahlulbayt Islamic Mission and the Islamic Centre of England, both strongly associated with the Shia community.

2023 — On his MOATS programme, he continued to engage sympathetically with Hassan Nasrallah and Hezbollah, including responding directly to Nasrallah’s speeches.

2025 — In Tehran, Galloway publicly praised the Iranian people, their leadership, heroes and martyrs, and was reported as speaking positively about Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Recent years — He has also spoken positively about Karbala and Arbaeen in conversation with guests, showing familiarity and sympathy with central Shia commemorations.

From the above statements, we can clearly understand that George Galloway lauds and praises mass murderers like Khomeini, Khamenei, and Nasr-Allah. 

Each of these statements is horrendous and conveys very terrible messages for the rest of humanity. 

May Allah save us from falling into the traps laid by these enemies of Islam. Ameen
