Syria – What Drew the Help of Allah? - Mawlana Afzal Ismail

What brought about the fall of the Nusairi Shia Assad regime after more than 50 years of oppression and tyranny?

Perhaps it was the cries of the women imprisoned in Sednaya, abused by their Nusairi guards.

Perhaps it was the silent testimony of the knives used by regime soldiers to slaughter innocent children.

Perhaps it was the waters of the Mediterranean Sea, which witnessed countless people drown while fleeing to Europe on overcrowded boats.
Perhaps it was the olive trees whose branches were shattered by relentless regime shelling.

Perhaps it was the prison floors of Tadmur, stained with the blood of innocent men.

Perhaps it was the cries of orphaned children whose parents were killed by Russian missile strikes as they slept in their homes.

Perhaps it was the tears of mothers whose sons and daughters were murdered while simply going out to buy a loaf of bread.

Perhaps it was the suffering of those left permanently disabled by the regime's chemical attacks in Ghouta.

Perhaps it was the minarets of the masaajid that fell silent as the adhaan ceased to echo because of attacks by Iranian-backed Shia militias.

Perhaps it was the dini madaaris that were closed or reduced to rubble by the regime.

Perhaps it was the heartfelt duaas of families whose loved ones were abducted and never seen again.

Perhaps it was the hunger of those driven to eat cats and the leaves of trees during the siege of the Yarmouk camp.

Who knows?
But the help of Allah came, and the Syrian people were liberated from the oppression of the Assad regime. Alhamdulillah.

Beware of the dua of the oppressed because there is no barrier between it and Allah. (Bukhari)
