What are the Principles & Features of Modernists?

 


Every deviated sect has principles and a framework in which they function. When it comes to the Modernists and Liberals, it is no different. In order to recognise a Modernist and Liberal, there are signs that one must understand and recognise, so that one can deal with issues that Modernists and Liberals rise. 

SIGNS OF A MODERNIST & LIBERAL

The first sign of a Modernist and Liberal is that he or she does not accept anything of the Shari'ah that is beyond their intellect. Whatever they can grasp or understand of the Shari'ah, they accept as true, and whatever they cannot perceive or register, they reject. 

Secondly, whatever clashes with European and Western culture, civilization, and study, the Modernist also casts it aside. Or, whatever European and Western culture dislikes of Islam and the Shari'ah, the Modernist also despises - even though the Noble Qur'an and the Blessed Sunnah establishes its authenticity and validity.

Thirdly, Modernists and Liberals utilize their own opinions and thoughts with regards to the Noble Qur'an and the Blessed Sunnah, they resort to far-fetched interpretations, which amounts to distortion and corruption of the sacred texts. 

Fourthly, they are infatuated and enamored by European and Western civilization and culture, preferring it above the religion of Islam.

Fifthly, Modernists and Liberals mock and laugh at Islamic civilization and culture, most often referring to it as  antiquated, archaic, and obsolete. 

THE GOAL & AIM OF MODERNISTS
 
The goal and aim of a Modernist is to bad mouth and speak ill of the scholars and 'Ulama'. They try as much as possible to cause people to turn away and dislike the 'Ulama, the Masajid, and the Madaris. The objective of this plan of action is that once the true and traditional 'Ulama lose reliability in the eyes of the people, and true knowledge of Islam dissipates, then Islam itself will disappear. The reason for this is that it is conditional for any religion or path to remain in existence that proper knowledge of it must spread and remain alive. 

If people stop studying medicine, and they mock at the doctors, it will result in people looking down on that field of study, and they will abandon it completely. If a field of study is not taught, then that knowledge will disappear too. Similarly, when people will stop learning and studying the knowledge of Islam, and mock at the 'Ulama, then who will study the knowledge of Islam for Islam to continue thriving? 

Hence, it is essential to recognize who the Modernists and Liberals are that are turning people away from the true traditional teachings of Islam, whilst substituting it with modern European and Western ideas, thereby destroying the learning and teaching of true and proper Islam. 

May Allah Ta'ala keep us on the straight path and let us meet him with true faith. Ameen
