The Terrible Fitnah of the Sunni-Shia Collaborative Translation of the Noble Qur'an
Jamia Ashraf-ul-Madaris has issued a fatwa refuting and rejecting the Sunni-Shia collaborative translation of the Noble Qur'an prepared by THE ILM FOUNDATION
1. It is essential and necessary to refrain from publishing and spreading the Sunni-Shia collaborative translation of the Noble Qur'an.
2. The belief of the Ahl-us-Sunnah wal Jama'ah is that the Noble Qur'an has reached the Ummah without any alteration, whereas the belief of the Shia is that - we seek the protection of Allah - there have been changes and alterations done in the Noble Qur'an. For this reason, the claim of unity between the Shia and the Ahl-us-Sunnah wal Jama'ah is a controversial one.
3. We fear that in the name of unity and harmony, a large part of the Ummah should not end up leaving the fold of the Ahl-us-Sunnah wal Jama'ah.
4. The sources and foundations of the Shia are totally different from those of the Ahl-us-Sunnah wal Jama'ah.
5. The claim of consensus and agreement upon the Noble Qur'an by the latter day Shia with the 'Ulama of the Ahl-us-Sunnah wal Jama'ah is deception and taqiyyah, i.e., holy hypocrisy.
