Responsibility of the 'Ulama'

 


Shaykh-ul-Islam 'Izz-ud-Deen Ibn 'Abdus-Salaam rahimahullah said, "It is not fitnah to refute innovation and render it hollow and void, because Allah Ta'ala has commanded the 'Ulama' to do it. Moreover, they are commanded to explain after they have studied it." [Tabaqaat Ash-Shafi'iyyah vol.4 p.371]
