Muftī Aḥmad Khānpūrī damat barakatuhum mentions in a response to one of the questions asked to him:

Questioner:
"These days people have started doing programs where men and women are seated in the same hall without a separation in between, and this is justified in the name of Da'wah. Even in some religious institutions and madaris, men and women now sit in the same room, with a barrier between them but with the instructor facing both. The people who do this say that people will stop coming if there is more proper gender separation, and they justify this by saying that this kind of set up does not fall under the prohibition of free mixing."

Muftī Aḥmad Khānpūrī damat barakatuhum answers:
"People like this will not be able to serve the Deen. People who have this kind of attitude that they can interpret things as they wish will end up disfiguring the Deen rather than serve it in any way. There is nothing really that can be said to these people. We don't have any hope that they will be able to do anything useful for the Deen."

Muftī Aḥmad Khānpūrī damat barakatuhum then says:
"The work of Deen must be done according to the norms of the Shari'a, and one must adhere to these rules, even if that means that we're doing a little bit and with fewer people. But we can't break the rules of the Shari'a in the name of spreading the Deen; ultimately that will not lead anywhere."
Note: May Allah Ta'ala accept all the sincere efforts being done by the 'Ulama-e-Haq to preserve and propagate the truth of Islam worldwide, and may Allah Ta'ala save us from disfiguring or distorting the pure Deen of Islam in any way. Ameen ‎
