What if the Interfaith Question was Posed to the Pious Predecessors?

Image
Sufyan Thawri rahimahullah was one of the great Muhaddithin of this Ummah. He lived from 97 to 161 AH.  Imam Dhahabi rahimahullah wrote about him, an entire book, called Manaqib Sufyan Ath-Thawri, from which the following 2 narrations are mentioned: 1. Damrah reports, I asked Sufyan Thawri, "Shall I shake hands with the Jews and Christians?" He said, "With your foot, yes." 2. I said to him, "What shall I say when I hear the sound of the Naqus (gong or bell)?" He said, "What do you say when a donkey passes wind?" Can we imagine for a moment what Sufyan Thawri rahimahullah would have said if the interfaith question was posed to him? What would he have said had he seen interfaith activities and prayers in which Muslims participate? Muslims today are under the impression that interfaith is synonymous with Da'wah. This image or impression has nothing to do with reality. Interfaith, and interfaith related activities like Mosque Open Days are noth...

Participating in a Meelaad Gathering - Fatawa Mahmudiyyah

Image
Question: Zayd established a Madrasah in such a place where there are innovators, but he does not participate in any innovations. However, looking at the expediency of him not participating in the innovation, then these people will not send their children to the Madrasah. What is the ruling if he participates in their innovations? Assuming he participates in their Meelaad with the intention of Tabligh, what will be the status of this action of Zayd's? In such a situation, what should Zayd do? Some people say about Haji sahib that he had given permission to stand, looking at the expediency. Answer: Haamidan wa Musalliyyan It is not permissible for Zayd to participate in these gatherings of innovation for the expediency of the Madrasah. This has become like playing a fiddle and gathering people, then calling them for Salaah. There is no permission for this. It is not in our knowledge that Haji sahib had given permission to stand for the sake of running a Madrasah. And Allah Ta'...

Whitewashing Polytheism: The Mosque Open Day (Scam)

Image
  1. The Masjid is a sacred space . It is dedicated for the remembrance and glorification of Allah Ta'ala , Salaah , recitation of the Noble Qur'an , the learning and teaching of pristine and pure Islam .  2. There is no scope in Islam for the misuse or abuse of the Masjid .  3. In this day and age of trials and lies, one of the severest amongst them is the promotion of the blessed Masajid to be used as centers of interfaith harmony. We seek the protection of Allah Ta'ala from this blasphemy and polytheism. 4. The Masjid stands to elevate the name of Allah Ta'ala, and promote the true word of Islam as overpowering over every other system and religion.  5. Interfaith harmony stands in direct contrast with the message of Tauhid and Khatm-un-Nubuwwah.  6. The Mosque Open Day as advertised and promoted by Interfaith Advocates invites polytheists into the most sacred and pure space in order to 'encourage unity and inclusivity'. 7. A brief look at the history of the...

Who are the Ghanadiqah?

Image
Who are the Ghanadiqah? Zanadiqah  (heretics) who do not like how Sayyiduna Muhammad Rasulullah sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam is described in history and the Seerah with the qualities of 'izzah (honour), ghayrah (protectiveness), quwwah (strength), and muru'ah (chivalry). So, they recreate his image in the image of Gandhi; a process known as the 'Gandhification of the Messenger'. They only accept those facets and characteristics of Islamic resistance to oppression that match the methodology of Gandhi; while everything else that contradicts Gandhi, they reinterpret (make ta'weel), outright deny (ta'teel), or say that they no longer apply today (mansukh). They are infamous for their inferiority complex, and feeling that the Islamic shari'ah and conquest history is backwards. The ideology of the Ghanadiqah is widespread amongst the masses of the Ummah and is one of the biggest obstacles towards Islamic revival.
