Who are the Sectarians?

Who are the Sectarians?
What does Sectarianism mean?
Who is responsible for Sectarianism, especially in the history of Islam?

Hypocrites in the time of Rasulullah sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam
During the lifetime of the final Nabi and Rasul of Allah Ta'ala deputed to humanity, Sayyiduna Muhammad Rasulullah sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, there were a number of groups that the Muslims had to deal with. One was the polytheists, the other was the Christians, another was the Jews, then the Zoroastrians, and it goes without saying, the hypocrites.

The hypocrites caused immense harm to Rasulullah sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam; fleeing from battle, spreading false rumors about the messenger of Allah, siding with the polytheists time and again, siding with the Jews on multiple occasions, and despite being known for their vile deeds, they continued along as if nothing was wrong. Yet, they stood as a sect on their own, they were named in the Noble Qur'an as such, with their qualities and attributes described in detail in the blessed Ahadith too. They were a sect, different from the body of the Muslim Ummah, with incorrect beliefs, and problematic actions.

What is a Sect?
A sect is defined by Oxford Languages as, 'a group of people with somewhat different religious beliefs (typically regarded as heretical) from those of a larger group to which they belong.'

The Leader of the Hypocrites
The hypocrites were led by Abdullah bin Ubayy bin Salul who engaged in pimping and prostituting women for his livelihood.

The Sect of Abdullah bin Saba - the Father of Shiasm
Going a little ahead, from the latter part of the Khilafat era of Sayyiduna 'Uthman bin 'Affan Dhun-Nurayn radiyallahu anhu, another hypocrite by the name of Abdullah bin Saba began spreading lies, rumors and incorrect beliefs amongst the unsuspecting and simpleton Muslims. He corrupted the beliefs of the Muslims and used his deviated religious ideas to bolster his political aims, which later formed an independent movement and resulted in the brutal assassination of the third Khalifah of Islam. Some historians note that the killer of Sayyiduna 'Uthman bin 'Affan radiyallahu 'anhu was Abdullah bin Saba himself.

The followers of Abdullah bin Saba began fabricating Ahadith in favor of Sayyiduna 'Ali radiyallahu 'anhu, to promote the Ahl-ul-Bayt (behind whom they hide but hate), and practiced innovations and heresies unheard of in the Muslim Ummah before them. They became a sect, and hence sectarian when they became excessive in their attachment to heresy and rebellion.

Division of the Sectarians
The sectarian followers of Abdullah bin Saba rallied around the name of one of the family members of Rasulullah sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam with each passing day. Hence, they split up into many divisions and sub-divisions, fighting amongst themselves and then drawing the Ummah into their heresy and fight too.

Shia & Rawafid
The sectarian followers of Abdullah bin Saba became known as the Shia and the Rawafid. Based on their internal differences and divisions and ascriptions to different members of the family of Rasulullah sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, they became known as the Zaydis (Fivers), Isma'ilis (Seveners), and Ithna Asharis (Twelvers). If we study Firaq-ush-Shia by the Shia scholar, Nawbakhti, we come to learn that the Shia split into more than seventy sub-divisions! Then they split further into the Usuli and Akhbari factions that fought one another tooth and nail.

Bear in mind that the family of Rasulullah sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam have nothing to do with the Shia. The Shia continually lie about these blessed people, ascribe things to them that never happened, and fabricate reports in their name. This is hatred for the Ahl-ul-Bayt, not love for them.

The Shia in the World Today
The majority Shia in the world today are the Ithna Asharis (Twelvers). In fact, the constitution of Iran is based on Ithna Ashari Shiasm.

It stands to reason that those who formed splinter groups and sects in the Muslim Ummah must be declared as sectarian. How can the genuine adherents to the religion of Islam, in the form of the Ahl-us-Sunnah wal Jama'ah be declared sectarian when they do not even fit the definition of a sect?

When the Ahl-us-Sunnah wal Jama'ah highlight the facts of history about the Shia, and inform the Ummah about the deviated and heretical beliefs of the Shia, they are not sectarian, they are simply informing and educating. So, take advantage, and benefit, rather than side with the sectarians.

There are a large number of people around the world that have fallen prey to Shia propaganda. Using lies and tales of the past, mixing it with political events of the day, there are many common Muslims that have been brainwashed into thinking that the Shia are not bad, and they are standing up for the Ummah! There can be nothing further from the truth.

Study the following facts from the bloody and treacherous history of the Shia:

1.     Abū Lu’lu’ the Iranian Magian had martyred Sayyidunā ‘Umar radiyallahu 'anhu.

2.     The rebels who martyred the great Ṣaḥābah radiyallahu 'anhum like Sayyidunā Ṭalḥa radiyallahu 'anhu and Sayyidunā Zubayr radiyallahu 'anhu were from the same flock. They were pleased with these killings, and they have never held mourning and self-flagellation ceremonies for this.

3.     The Khawārij grew out of the same flock. They were the ones that turned against Sayyidunā ‘Alī radiyallahu 'anhu and rejected his decisions. The Shia criticize Sayyidunā Mu’āwiyah radiyallahu 'anhu severely but they are silent about those that turned against Sayyidunā ‘Alī radiyallahu 'anhu. Besides religious allyship between the Khawārij and the Shia, what else can this be?

4.     The staunch Shia had invited the killer of Sayyidunā ‘Alī radiyallahu 'anhu from Egypt. Now, after every Ṣalāh, the Shia will curse the first three Khulāfā’ and Sayyidunā Mu’āwiyah radiyallahu 'anhu, but they will not say anything about Ibn Muljim. Where is the unity and love?

5.     The Shia were angered at the reconciliation efforts of Sayyidunā Ḥasan radiyallahu 'anhu with Sayyidunā Mu’āwiyah radiyallahu 'anhu. They began to abuse Sayyidunā Ḥasan radiyallahu 'anhu and target him with names and labels. The Shia subsequently took away the ‘Imāmat’ position from the progeny of Sayyidunā Ḥasan radiyallahu 'anhu. Where was the unity call then? Where was the allyship then? Who are the sectarians?

6.     The Shia of Kufa invited Sayyidunā Ḥusayn radiyallahu 'anhu and then mercilessly martyred him and the blessed family of Rasūlullāh sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam. Where was the unity and brotherhood then? Who are the sectarians?

7.     These killers of Sayyidunā Ḥusayn radiyallahu 'anhu then formed a group of their own called the Tawwābūn, ostensibly to make amends for their slaughter at Karbala. In order to repent, they began killing more Muslims. Subḥānallāh.

8.     A few years later, the terrible oppressor, Mukhtār bin ‘Ubayd Thaqafī arose. He killed more than 80 000 Muslims under the guise of taking revenge for Sayyidunā Ḥusayn radiyallahu 'anhu. To this day, the Shia refer to him as Nāṣir Āl-Ḥusayn and celebrate him as a hero. Mukhtār bin ‘Ubayd Thaqafī then claimed Nubuwwah. He was finished off by Sayyidunā Muṣ’ab bin Zubayr radiyallahu 'anhu.

9.     Sayyidunā Zayd bin ‘Alī Zayn-ul-‘Ābidīn rahimahullah was from the most virtuous Sādāt. The Shia deserted him when he spoke of his high regard for Sayyidunā Abū Bakr radiyallahu 'anhu and Sayyidunā ‘Umar radiyallahu 'anhu. He dismissed them and from his blessed tongue, the Shia were called ‘Rawāfiḍ’. To this day, the Ithnā ‘Ashariyyah and the Ja’farī Shia show dislike and hatred for Sayyidunā Zayd bin ‘Alī Zayn-ul-‘Ābidīn rahimahullah.

10. The bloodthirsty Iranians supported the movement of the Banū ‘Abbās to overthrow the Banū Umayyah. Abū Muslim Khurāsānī had carried out a great number of killings and murders during this time. He is hailed with love and a leader by the Shia scholar, Shostarī.

11. After rallying around the Banū ‘Abbas, the Shia then began oppressing, looting, and destroying the Banū ‘Abbās too. This clearly indicates that the Shia would rally around anyone in a leadership position, for them to acquire their filthy and dastardly objectives of wiping out the Ahl-us-Sunnah wal Jamā’ah.

12. After capitulating to the Shia pressure, Mustakfī Billāh, the Abbāsid Ruler, had handed control of Baghdad over to the Būyah (Shia). The Shia then caused mayhem and bloodshed in Baghdad, commanded the Muslims to close their shops and wear black clothes and do mourning ceremonies in the streets. The Būyah wrote curses of the Khulafā’ and Sayyidunā Mu’āwiyah radiyallahu 'anhu on the doors of the Masājid.

13. Ḥasan bin Ṣabbāḥ was a leader amongst the Ismā’īlī Shia. His killings and murders are well known in the Shī’ī world. It is around him and his murderous thugs that the word ‘assassin’ finds its origins.

14. The Qarāmiṭah Shia massacred the ḥujjāj in the blessed Masjid in Makkah Mukarramah during ḥajj. They stole the black stone, and returned it after many years – broken into pieces! Is this unity and brotherhood? Is this Islām?

15. The Fāṭimid Shia of Egypt are notorious for their oppression and assassinations of Muslims. They were dealt away with by Sulṭān Ṣalāḥ-ud-Dīn Ayyūbī rahimahullah. For this reason, the Shia kuffār dislike this great hero of Islām.

16. One of the worst genocides in human history – carried out by the Tartars – was enabled with the help of the Shia, namely Ibn ‘Alqamī and Naṣīr-ud-Dīn Ṭūsī. Rivers of blood flowed, libraries were destroyed, and humanity was lost. Where was the unity and brotherhood then?

17.  Tamerlane the Rāfiḍī meted out horrible oppression upon the Muslims in Asia Minor. He fought the Ottoman Sulṭān, Bāyazid Yildirim for years on end, causing great harm to the Ahl-us-Sunnah wal Jamā’ah. All the lands of Europe that were conquered by the Muslims were lost on account of this treachery and betrayal of the Shia kāfir, Tamerlane. Where was the unity then?

18. Shāh Ismā’īl Safawī, the notorious bloodletter, built the Shia state of Iran on the skulls of the ‘Ulamā’ of the Ahl-us-Sunnah wal Jamā’ah. He destroyed Masājid and made it obligatory to curse the blessed Khulafā’ radiyallahu 'anhum in the Jumu’ah khuṭbah. Where was the unity and allyship then?

19. Nadir Shāh Durrānī came from Iran to India and massacred the Muslims in Delhi in the Jāmi’ Masjid. This massacre was praised by the Shia kuffār. Who are the sectarians? Where was the unity?

Now, throughout history, the Shia have been using political agendas to spread heresy, and heresy to spread their political agendas. The Muslims throughout the world must be on their guard in this highly sensitive time too. Whilst our hearts are hurt and bleeding at Ghazzah and the rest of the Muslim lands, we cannot allow our emotions to get the better of us, and fall prey to Shia Iranian propaganda.

The Shia Iranian propaganda is designed to rob you of your faith and religion, just as zionism robs any adherent of any faith of his or her religion!

If any Muslim thinks its fine and is comfortable with supporting Iran, then in actual fact, he is also very comfortable with supporting zionism, because Shiasm and Zionism are the ill gotten fruits of Judaism!

When the books of the Shia are filled with blasphemy against Allah Ta'ala, Rasulullah sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, the Sahabah radiyallahu 'anhum, the Ahl-ul-Bayt radiyallahu 'anhum, the pious 'Ulama of the Muslim Ummah, does it ever strike the person shouting for Iran if this is the kind of 'unity' that the Noble Qur'an and Sunnah asks of us?

When the history of the Shia is full of treachery and their hands are dripping with the blood of the Ahl-ul-Bayt and the Sahabah radiyallahu 'anhum, do you think they will spare your blood when you love the Ahl-ul-Bayt and Sahabah radiyallahu 'anhum?

If the Muslims studied what the Shia books and what their scholars say about the Muslim Ummah, they will be shocked to the core. They will forget about their unity slogans, and come to their senses.

The Muslim Ummah will wake up, its only a matter of time.

We make sincere du'a to Allah Ta'ala to keep the Ummah steadfast upon true Islam, and may he guard the most blessed sanctuaries of Islam, and accept us to be at the forefront of liberating Masjid Al-Aqsa in the blessed army of the Mahdi, the true and genuine Mahdi, from the blessed family of Rasulullah sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam. Ameen
