Salvation is Confined to Islam - Mufti Muhammad Shafi rahimahullah

Salvation is confined to Islām in this era; the Good Deeds & Excellent Conduct of a non-Muslim are not Accepted

[Surah Aal-'Imran: 18-19]

'With great clarity, these  ayaat have ended the atheistic ideology that attempts to unite disbelief with Islam in the name of Islamic tolerance, and declare that every religion in the world, whether Judaism, Christianity, or idolatry, is a means of salvation. This is said on condition that that one has good deeds and is committed to excellent morals.

In reality, this is destroying the foundational principles of Islam. The result of this will be that Islam remains without any reality; it will stand as something imaginary, which can be disguised in any form of disbelief.

These ayaat, and countless others like them have clearly shown that just as light and darkness cannot be the same, in exactly the same way, it is highly unreasonable and impossible for Allah Ta'ala to like and prefer disobedience and rebellion against him, just as he likes and prefers obedience and submission to him.

Whichever person denies any of the principles of Islam is undoubtedly a rebel against Allah Ta'ala and an enemy of his Rasul (sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam), no matter how good he may appear in his subsidiary actions and customary morals and character. Salvation in the hereafter depends on obedience to Allah Ta'ala and his Rasul (sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam). Whoever is deprived of this, none of his deeds are valid. With regards to such people, the Noble Qur'an says, 'we will not assign to them on the Day of Resurrection any weight (i.e., importance).' [Surah al-Kahf: 105]
