Imaani Fervour of 'Allamah Anwar Shah Kashmiri rahimahullah

 

'Allamah Anwar Shah Kashmiri rahimahullah was a very high ranking Muhaddith. He possessed a treasure of knowledge and deep insight. Aside from having mastery over Arabic, he was an expert in archaic Persian. 

'Allamah Iqbal Marhum had once travelled to Iran. The Zoroastrians there requested him to translate one of their ancient works into clear and lucid Persian. He replied, "It is not possible for me to translate this work. However, there is someone in my country that will be able to do this work very well."

The Zoroastrians presented an offer of a hundred thousand in the Iranian currency for this work to be done. 

'Allamah Iqbal returned to India and mentioned this offer to 'Allamah Anwar Shah Kashmiri rahimahullah. 

'Allamah Anwar Shah Kashmiri rahimahullah, the former Sadr-ul-Mudarrisin at Dar-ul-'Ulum Deoband, replied, "Why should I spread blasphemy (disbelief) in exchange of a hundred thousand? Anwar Shah was born for Islam, and not to spread blasphemy (disbelief)."

Subhanallah, what great passion and fervour did this great 'alim have to spread Islam and Imaan. May Allah Ta'ala accept us all to have the same fervent Imaani passion to spread Islam, and not disbelief. Ameen
