WHO ARE THE BANĪ ISRĀ’ĪL & WHY ARE THEY THE WORST OF NATIONS?

And [mention, O Muḥammad], when Musa said to his people, "O my people, why do you harm me while you certainly know that I am the messenger of Allāh to you?" And when they deviated, Allāh caused their hearts to deviate. And Allāh does not guide the defiantly disobedient people. [Sūrah aṣ-Ṣaff: 5]

1.    The Banī Isrāīl are mentioned in the Noble Qur’ān repeatedly in order for the Muslim Ummah to derive lessons and not fall into the same errors, disobedience, and deviation as them.

2.    Sayyidunā Ya’qūb ‘alayhi as-salām was the son of Sayyidunā Isḥāq ‘alayhi as-salām and the grandson of Sayyidunā Ibrāhīm ‘alayhi as-salām.

3.    The word Isrāīl means ‘Abdullāh, i.e., servant of Allāh. This was the title given to Sayyidunā Ya’qūb ‘alayhi as-salām.

4.    Sayyidunā Ya’qūb ‘alayhi as-salām had 12 sons; Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun (from Laī’ah). Sayyidunā Yūsuf ‘alayhi as-salām and Binyāmīn from Rachel. Dan and Naphtali (from Bilhah). Gad and Asher (from Zilpah). They are known as the Banī Isrāīl.

5.    Allāh Ta’alā had sent a huge number of Ambiyā’ to the Banī Isrā’īl. Most often, they ignored the commands of Allāh Ta’ālā and were thus punished and cursed by their own Ambiyā’.

6.    The major crimes of the Banī Isrā’īl were; killing the Ambiyā’, worshipping the calf, their refusal to take the Taurāh as the word of Allāh Ta’ālā, they took Sayyidunā ‘Īsā ‘alayhi as-salām to be the ‘Son of God’, they refused to enter Jerusalem with their Nabī, they would interfere with the words and meanings of the divine scripture, they were ungrateful for the food sent for them from heaven, they refused to accept Sayyidunā Ṭālūt ‘alayhi as-salām, they learned and practiced black magic and witchcraft, they would ask too many questions about the commands given to them, they refused to fight on the side of Sayyidunā Mūsā ‘alayhi as-salām, and taunted and troubled him to such a degree that Sayyidunā Muḥammad Rasūlullāh ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam made du’ā’ of mercy upon Sayyidunā Mūsā ‘alayhi as-salām, they would not accept and have conviction in the words and instructions given to them by the great Ambiyā’ sent to them, they would pick and choose which commands they wanted to follow, and which ones to reject.

7.    Based on these crimes and major disobedience, the great Ambiyā’ like Sayyidunā Dāwūd ‘alayhi as-salām and Sayyidunā ‘Īsā ‘alayhi as-salām cursed them.

8.    Furthermore, they earned the anger and wrath of Allāh Ta’ālā – which is emphatically declared in the Noble Qur’ān.

9.    The Muslim Ummah must be on their guard, especially with regards to treading in the footsteps of the accursed Banī Isrā’īl. The accursed Banī Isrā’īl do not desire anything from the Muslim Ummah, except that we follow them in their religion and practices.

10.                    One of the most terrible things is that even if the Muslims follow them to the tee, the Banī Isrā’īl will never be pleased with the Muslims, but they will desire that the Muslims remain as an inferior class and race to them!

11.                    The Banī Isrā’īl were principally known for their ingratitude. Hence, they desire the same from us. They were ungrateful for the divine favours bestowed on them, the divine guidance sent for them, and the large number of Ambiyā’ sent to them.

12.                    When the Muslim Ummah will show ingratitude for the greatest Nabī, Sayyidunā Muḥammad Rasūlullāh ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam, and turn away from his teachings, resort to unnecessary hair-splitting questions regarding the commands of Allāh Ta’ālā, try to interfere with the divine word of Allāh Ta’ālā, and interpolate the teachings of the Noble Qur’ān and the Blessed Sunnah, then, we seek the protection of Allāh Ta’ālā, the curses of Allāh Ta’ālā and the Noble Qur’ān will fall heavily upon us.

13.                    The Muslim Ummah, must, at all cost, stay far away from the Banī Isrāīl, their ways and habits, and very far away from their interpolated religious teachings.

14.                    The Banī Isrāīl have earned the wrath and curses of Allāh Ta’ālā, and now they are pushing the Muslim Ummah in the same direction; they want the Muslims to turn against Islām, change it, and thereby earn the wrath of Allāh Ta’ālā, and be morphed into apes and swine as they were.

15.                    The second outstanding quality of the Banī Isrāīl is jealousy. They burned with jealousy at their brother, the great Nabī, Sayyidunā Yūsuf ‘alayhi as-salām, and continue to burn with jealousy at our Nabī, Sayyidunā Muammad Rasūlullāh allallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam. It is senseless and pointless to run behind the ways of those who are jealous of one.

16.                    Out of their jealousy and animosity for the Muslim Ummah, the Banī Isrāīl are greatly hopeful of seeing the destruction of the Muslim Ummah, they want the Muslim Ummah to fall in line with them and be destroyed like them. They want the Muslim Ummah to follow their Dajjāl, and be killed along with him. The Muslim Ummah does not understand that Dajjāl is from Jewish parents, and the blessed person that will deal Dajjāl the death blow is the very same Nabī that they tried to kill! Subḥānallāh!

17.                    The third outstanding quality of the Banī Isrāīl, as stated in the Noble Qur’ān, is their practice of interfering with the divine texts, interpolating the words of Allāh Ta’ālā, misinterpreting them, and then replacing the divine laws with their own desires. The genuine scholars of the Banī Isrāīl would teach and warn, but this fell on deaf ears too. Hence, the Muslim Ummah, must stay completely away from interfering in the matters of Dīn that they have no knowledge of. They must adhere to the teachings of the genuine and pious scholars of the Ummah, regarding whom, there is overwhelming evidence of their lofty position in the sight of Allāh Ta’ālā. May Allāh Ta’ālā accept. Āmīn
