Guarding Khatm-e-Nubuwwah

 

Muḥaddith-ul-‘Aṣr Mawlānā Muḥammad Anwar Shāh Kashmīrī raḥimahullāh once sat down in his circle of knowledgeable discourses and said, “I say the following, with foresight, i.e., deep and complete research, that serving the ḥadīth is also serving the Dīn of Allāh Ta’ālā. Serving the Noble Qur’ān is also an important service. Serving Tafsīr is also, undoubtedly, a great fortune. Serving Fiqh is also a great bounty. Doing Tablīgh is also important work.

However, guarding Khatm-e-Nubuwwah is guarding the being of Sayyidunā Muḥammad Rasūlullāh ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam. The rest of the services involves guarding and protecting words and speech, actions and works. They involve guarding and protecting the Sīrah of Sayyidunā Muḥammad Rasūlullāh ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam, guarding and protecting the form and features of Sayyidunā Muḥammad Rasūlullāh ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam, guarding and protecting the deeds of Sayyidunā Muḥammad Rasūlullāh ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam, and guarding and protecting the guidance given by Sayyidunā Muḥammad Rasūlullāh ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam, but guarding and protecting the being, that is best and most virtuous.”

Mawlānā Muḥammad Anwar Shāh Kashmīrī raḥimahullāh used to also say, “He who worked an hour for the ‘aqīdah, i.e., belief, of Khatm-e-Nubuwwah, he will, Inshā Allāh, definitely get the intercession of Sayyidunā Muḥammad Rasūlullāh ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam.”
