An Open Letter to those who call for unity with the Shia
Over the last few days, there has been a clamour about Shia Sunni unity. This hullaballoo, to our great dismay, was also spread from the Masjid Mimbar in South Africa. To Allah alone is our complaint.
Nevertheless, have the Muslim public of South Africa and around thought for a few moments over what the Shia actually believe and say about the Muslims, i.e., the Ahl-us-Sunnah wal Jama'ah.
If you are not aware, or have not been made aware, then please do take some time out to read, reflect, and understand the matter at hand. Study the following references from the Shia sources, and decide for yourself if you are being duped or not.
Are the Shia and their fanboys really interested in unity, or, is the unity call itself a misnomer and a lie?
1. What do the Shia believe about the Muslims?
The Twelver Shia believe that Sunnis are infidels, including Hanafis, Malikis, Shafi'is, Hanbalis. Their most dangerous enemy is the one who is knowledgeable about their doctrine and their practice of taqiyya (dissimulation), while the least dangerous enemy is the one who is ignorant of their beliefs.
2. The meaning of the word "Nasibi" according to the Shia:
He is the one who harbors enmity towards the family of Sayyiduna Muhammad Rasulullah sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, and what is meant by them are the Muslims, i.e., the Ahl-us-Sunnah wal Jama'ah.
Hussein bin Muhammad Al Asfour Al Darazi, a Shia says: Their reports, peace be upon them, call out that the Nasibi is what is called a Sunni among them.
Hussein Al Asfoor Al Darazi also says: There is no doubt that what is meant by Nasibis are the Sunnis.(Al-Mahasin Al-Nafsaniyya by Al-Darazi, p. 147)
Ayatollah Mohsen Al-Amin says: “The elite, our companions call themselves in contrast to the general public, who are called the People of the Sunnah and the Community” (A’yan Al-Shi’a by Mohsen Al-Amin, Vol. 1, p. 21 – Dar Al-Ta’aruf Edition – Beirut 1986).
Ayatollah Fathallah Namazi Shirazi says:
As for the hadith from the general sources (the Sunnis), many of their hadith scholars, such as Al-Bukhari and Muslim, have narrated it. (The rule of "no harm, no foul" by Al-Namazi, p. 21 - Dar Al-Adwaa First Edition - Beirut)
The general public, therefore, are the Sunnis, and on this basis, Nasibi is a title that the Shia give to the Sunnis.
3. The Shia do not accept the same deity and Messenger as that of the Muslims
Nimatullah al-Jaza'iri said: We do not agree with them (i.e., with the Sunnis) on Allah, nor on a messenger, nor on an imam, because they say: Their deity is the one whose messenger was Muhammad and whose successor after him was Abu Bakr. We do not believe in this deity nor in that messenger, but we say: The deity whose messenger's successor was Abu Bakr is not our deity, nor is that messenger our messenger. (Al-Anwar al-Nu'maniyya by Nimatullah al-Jaza'iri, vol. 2, p. 278)
4. The invalidity of the worship of the Sunnis:
Ni'matullah al-Jaza'iri said: I say: This reveals to you many things, including the invalidity of the worship of those who differ (i.e., the Sunnis). For although they fast, pray, perform Hajj, pay Zakat, and perform other acts of worship and obedience, and even surpass others in these, they approach Allah through means other than those He commanded. They have made the four schools of thought intermediaries and gateways between themselves and their deity, and they take rulings from them, while these rulings are derived from analogies, deductions, opinions, and independent reasoning, which Allah Almighty has forbidden us to use for rulings, and which He has criticized those who have entered into worldly affairs through them. (Stories of the Prophets by Ni'matullah al-Jaza'iri, p. 347, Beirut edition)
5. The Shia consider Sunnis to be infidels:
Nimatullah al-Jaza'iri said: They are impure infidels, according to the consensus of the Imami Shi'a scholars, and they are worse than the Jews and Christians. One of the signs of the Nasibi (Sunnis) is giving precedence to someone other than Ali over him in the Imamate. (Al-Anwar al-Nu'maniyya, Vol. 3, pp. 206-207)
Al-Kulayni said: All people are illegitimate children except for our Shi'a. (Al-Kafi by Al-Kulayni, Vol. 8, p. 135)
6. Permissibility of shedding the blood and seizing the wealth of Sunnis:
Muhammad ibn Ali ibn Babawayh narrated on the authority of Dawud ibn Farqad, who said: I said to Abu Abdullah, peace be upon him: What do you say about killing a Nasibi? He said: His blood is permissible, but I fear for you. If you can topple a wall on him or drown him in water so that he cannot testify against you, then do so. I said: What do you think about his money? He said: Take whatever you can.(Illal al-Shara’i’ by Ibn Babawayh al-Qummi, p. 601)
Abu Ja'far al-Tusi narrated on the authority of Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq, who said: "Take the money of the Nasibi wherever you find it and give us one-fifth." (Tahdhib al-Ahkam by Abu Ja'far al-Tusi, vol. 4, p. 122, Tehran Press)
Khomeini says: The stronger view is that the one who opposes the Prophet is treated like the people of war in terms of the permissibility of taking what is seized from them and the obligation to pay one-fifth of it. Rather, it appears that it is permissible to take his money wherever it is found, and in whatever manner, and the obligation to pay one-fifth of it. (Tahrir al-Wasilah by Khomeini, Vol. 1, p. 352, Beirut edition)
The Shia scholar Yusuf al-Bahrani says:
Calling a Nasibi a Muslim, and that it is not permissible to take his money from the perspective of Islam, is contrary to what the rightful ones (the Shia) have said, past and present, regarding the ruling that the Nasibi is an infidel and impure, and that it is permissible to take his money, or even kill him.(Al-Hada’iq Al-Nasira fi Ahkam Al-Itra Al-Tahirah by Yusuf Al-Bahrani, Vol. 2, pp. 323-324)
7. The impurity of Sunnis according to Shia:
The Shia scholar Muhammad Kazim al-Tabatabani said: There is no doubt about the impurity of the extremists, the Kharijites, and the Nawasib. (Al-Urwa al-Wuthqa by al-Tabatabani, vol. 1, p. 68, Tehran edition)
Ayatollah Al-Hasan bin Yusuf bin Al-Mutahhar Al-Hilli says: The Kharijites, the extremists, and the Nasibi, who is the one who openly displays enmity towards the Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, are impure.(The End of the Rulings in Knowing the Rulings by Al-Hilli, Part 1, p. 274, Tehran Edition)
Muhammad ibn Ali ibn al-Husayn al-Qummi, nicknamed al-Saduq, narrated: On the authority of Abu Basir, on the authority of Abu Abdullah, peace be upon him, who said: Noah, peace be upon him, carried the dog and the pig in the ark, but he did not carry the child of adultery, and the Nasibi is worse than the child of adultery. (Iqab al-A'mal by al-Qummi, p. 252, Beirut edition)
Muhammad Baqir al-Majlisi narrated on the authority of Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq that he said:
A believer can intercede for his close friend unless he is an enemy of the Ahlulbayt. If every prophet sent by Allah, or every angel close to Allah, were to intercede for an enemy of the Ahlulbayt, they would not be able to intercede. (Bihar al-Anwar by al-Majlisi, vol. 8, p. 41)
8. The Shia position on the four Imams:
When the Shia show respect for the four Sunni imams (Abu Hanifa, Malik, Al-Shafi’i, and Ahmad ibn Hanbal), it is only out of taqiyya (dissimulation).
Muhammad al-Ridha al-Radawi says: If those who claim to follow Islam and the Sunnah truly loved the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), they would have followed them and would not have taken religious rulings from deviant figures like Abu Hanifa, al-Shafi'i, Malik, and Ibn Hanbal. (They lied about the Shi'a by Muhammad al-Radawi, p. 279)
9. Confessions of a repentant Shia scholar:
Hussein al-Mousawi (one of the Shia scholars in Najaf after his repentance) said: When the rule of the Pahlavi dynasty in Iran ended following the Islamic Revolution, and Khomeini took over, it became incumbent upon Shia scholars to visit and congratulate the Imam on this great victory, for the establishment of the first Shia state in the modern era ruled by jurists.
The duty of congratulating fell on me personally more than on others because of my close relationship with Khomeini. I visited Iran a month and a half - and perhaps more - after the Imam entered Tehran following his return from exile in Paris. He welcomed me very much, and my visit was separate from the visit of the delegation of Shia scholars in Iraq.
In a private meeting with the Imam, he told me: “Sayyid Hussein: The time has come to implement the wills of the Imams, peace be upon them. We will shed the blood of the Nasibis, kill their sons, and enslave their women. We will not let any of them escape punishment. Their wealth will belong exclusively to the Shia of the Ahlulbayt. We will wipe Mecca and Medina off the face of the earth, because these two cities have become strongholds of the Wahhabis. Karbala must be the blessed and holy land of God, the direction of prayer for people. In doing so, we will fulfill the dream of the Imams, peace be upon them. Our state, for which we have struggled for many years, has been established, and all that remains is implementation!” (For God and for History, by Hussein al-Mousawi, pp. 80-81)
10. Food for Thought:
The above references reflect a very different picture from what the promoters of unity are saying. All those who call for the supposed Shia Sunni unity are called on to explain these references from the Shia works.
The Shia view the Muslims as impure, whose wealth and blood is permitted, whose Allah and Rasul is denied and belied, whilst some misguided deceivers sing the unity carol!
Is this the meaning of unity? What kind of unity is this?
The Shia are using the ruse of their supposed fight with Israel as a pretext to wipe your imaan away. Be aware, study properly before just getting washed away with the Shia propaganda. Flee as far away as you can from anyone calling for unity with the Shia.
May Allah accept us to defend the Deen of Islam from distortion, and may he protect us all from the Shia filth. May Allah destroy the Shia lovers, and the Sahabah haters. Ameen
