Clearing some Misconceptions Surrounding Iran
Some Muslims are under the impression that to support Iran is acceptable because it is a Muslim country. This is incorrect.
The dominant strand of Shia in Iran today is the Ithna Ashariyyah. In fact, the constitution of Iran is based on Ithna Ashari Shiasm. Most, if not all, of the Shia in the world are the Ithna Ashariyyah.
The beliefs of this group of the Shia constitute clear-cut disbelief which renders them out of the fold of Islam. It would be safer to say that they are enemies of Islam that work to destroy Islam.
Consider three of their beliefs which are extremely problematic in Islam:
1. Imaamah:
Shia belief - Their 12 imams are sinless and have a status superior than that of the Ambiyaa 'alaihim-us-salaam. Their previous leader, Khomeini says, "One of the necessities of our doctrine is that our Imams have a status that neither a close angel nor a sent prophet can reach."
Correct Islamic belief – The Ambiyaa are sinless and the best of Allah’s creation. Nabi sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam was the best of the Ambiyaa.
2. Tahreef of the Qur'an:
Shia belief - The current Qur’an is tampered with and not in its complete form.
Correct Islamic belief – The Qur’an is protected by Allah and is free of any distortions or imperfections.
3. Cursing the Sahabah radiyallahu 'anhum:
Shia belief – It is acceptable to verbally abuse the Sahabah radiyallahu 'anhum, especially Sayyiduna Abu Bakr radiyallahu 'anhu, Sayyiduna Umar radiyallahu 'anhu and Sayyiduna 'Uthmaan radiyallahu 'anhu. They accuse Sayyidah Aisha radiyallahu 'anha, the honourable spouse of Nabi sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, of committing adultery.
They also believe that most of the Sahabah left Islam after the demise of Nabi sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam.
Correct Islamic belief – The Sahabah were the students and companions of Nabi sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam. Allah was pleased with them and they will all enter Jannah.
For the above reasons, according to many Ulama of the past and present, the Ithna Ashariyyah are not Muslims.
Note on Taqiyyah or Holy Hypocrisy:
Note that taqiyyah (concealing the truth and hypocrisy) is part of the beliefs of the Shia. The Shia may therefore deny the above beliefs even though these are clearly mentioned in their books.
A Shia is even allowed to deny being a Shia in front of Muslims.
The safe thing is to look into their primary and secondary books to gauge what they actually mean and outwardly say.
Muslims around the world must take care to understand who they speak to and who they mix with. Under the deceptive unity slogans chanted by the Shia, Muslims fall into great problems. The Muslim Ummah must know very well that the Shia mock the true Muslims, they use names like Bakri (in reference to Sayyiduna Abu Bakr radiyallahu 'anhu), and Umari (in reference to Sayyiduna 'Umar radiyallahu 'anhu) in order to mock and jeer at the Muslims.
Also, the books of the Shia state that the Shia have been created from the soil of Jannah, so no sin will harm them, and the Muslims have been created from the soil of hell, so no good will benefit them! Yes, this is the reality of the so called unity they call for!
May Allah guide us towards upholding true Islam and may Allah protect our imaan during these difficult times. Ameen
