The Clear Quran: Another Attempt to Distort the Message of the Qur'an through Interfaith

Image
Imposters and fraudsters who posed as prophets have always attempted to distort the Noble Qur'an.  Musaylamah al-Kadh-dhab claimed to receive revelation and fooled his followers into thinking that he was a divinely appointed messenger. His laughable lines of poetry cause even a first grader to chuckle and a drunken cokehead to snigger.  Musaylamah of Punjab, i.e., Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiyani, followed suit, and claimed to be a messenger. He also ended up a laughing stock whilst his filth exited his mouth as he woefully died on the toilet seat.  May Allah Ta'ala save the Ummah from all their lies and distortions.  In this day and age, another attempt has been made to tamper with the message of the Noble Qur'an, this time by an interfaith scholar.  The Clear Quran by Mustafa Khattab includes interfaith themes in his translation of the Noble Qur'an, like 'no compulsion in religion', 'common origin of humanity', 'accountability based on deeds, not affi...

The Most Amazing Dedication to a Book

Image
What does it mean to give a rose to the perfumer?! Or, rain to the clouds?! What good does it do to pour a jug of water into a river?! What does it mean to give a dinar to a rich man?! I think the idea of dedication has become overused...So, to whom do I dedicate this book?! To the martyrs who did good, who did so much for us...or, to the school of patience, my father and mother, whom I haven't seen for 14 months...or, to the Mujahideen who showed us our direction and our Qiblah...or, to my beloved wife, whose tears stole the ink of my book...or, to the sincere preachers who strove with their knowledge in a great struggle?! To all of you, and to every worker for the glory of his religion and the honour of his nation, I dedicate this book... and whoever sleeps while his religion is being defended, may his eyes never find rest. _______The Martyr, Muhammad Zaki Hamad, Under the Banner of the Flood...Khabbab's Trench p.4

Differences between Abu Bakr & 'Umar radiyallahu 'anhuma

Image
Rasulullah sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam said, "In the heavens there are two angels. One commands severity and the other commands leniency. Both are right. One is Jibril and the other is Mika'il alayhim as-salam. There are two Ambiya; one commands severity and the other leniency, and both are right. One is Ibrahim, the other, Nuh 'alayhim as-salam, and there are two of my companions. One commands severity and the other leniency, and both are right. The one is 'Umar radiyallahu 'anhu and the other is Abu Bakr radiyallahu 'anhu." [Jami'-us-Saghir, Tabarani, Ibn 'Asakir] While keeping this in mind, you should know that the 'Ulama of this Ummah, the Sufis, and all the prominent ones of every era always had some forms of differences. Sometimes, due to their differences of disposition and nature, the opinions of some truth-seeking, practicing 'Ulama inclined towards severity and harsh attitudes. Some others again considered leniency to be mo...

The Early Evolutionists: The Dahriyya

Image
The Dahriyya would promote the denial of the original creation of Adam 'alayhi as-salam by suggesting that there were men before him. They used this idea to support their belief in the beginningless nature of the universe.  Well over a thousand years ago, the 'Ulama of Islam heard about the ideas of the Dahriyya and they rejected them based on the stronger evidence to the contrary. In today's times, we have a reversal and compromise of beliefs and ideas, also amongst Muslims. Some promote the possible acceptance of Adamic Exceptionalism, which has roots in Shiasm, whilst others entertain the idea that Human Exceptionalism is a possible option to embrace. Study the following table to understand the concepts simply: Entertaining the idea of evolution is problematic itself. Then, to compound the problem, nuances are being added to the theory of evolution. Then, to further complicate things, Shias and Evolution Apologists are trying very hard to crack open the barriers of the...

Consensus on the Adamic Creation

Image
Abu Mansur Abd al-Qahir al-Baghdadi asserted that Muslims, Christians, and Jews agree on the belief that all humans descend from Adam 'alayhi as-salam and that he was created from dust. [al-Asma' wa al-Sifat, Dar-al-Taqwa, Damascus, 2020] Ibn 'Atiyya states in his Tafsir that all people are in consensus that Allah Ta'ala created Adam 'alayi as-salam from dust and that he was not born from sexual reproduction.  Al-Qurtubi states that no one from the Christians or Muslims differed regarding Adam 'alayhi as-salam being created and formed without biological parents. Ibn al-Qattan al-Fasi reports in his collection of unanimously agreed matters that Muslims reached consensus that Allah Ta'ala made Adam 'alayhi as-salam the father of mankind.  Ibn Qayyim al-Jauziyya adds that from the matters that are known and no Muslim disputes is that Allah Ta'ala created Adam 'alayhi as-salam from the dust of this world.  Summary: Muslim scholars from nearly a tho...

Evolution Apologists

Image
Since it's inception, the theory of evolution has been controversial for Muslims. Through years of examining arguments for or against it, I have seen that accepting the theory of evolution is viewed as a sign of intellectual maturity. In contrast, adhering to the standard theological model of the origin of humanity is seen as dogmatic, possessing blind faith, or simply gross ignorance. In almost every Islamicate language, numerous books, articles, and pamphlets speak to the contention of whether Adam 'alayhi as-salam was an original creation.  Reconciliation with the theory of evolution came as numerous influential figures, both past and present, have taken the view that the Qur'anic narrative of Adam 'alayhi as-salam not having biological parents is connotatively speculative (zanni-ud-dalalah).  Muhammad 'Abduh proferred the view that the belief of Adam 'alayhi as-salam being the progenitor of all humans on earth today is not definitively (qat'i) known fr...
